PromptVault — Privacy Policy

PromptVault is a browser extension that lets you save your own text prompts and insert them into the field you are typing in. This policy explains, plainly, what it does and does not do with your data.

What we collect

Nothing. PromptVault has no account, no sign-up, and no analytics. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

Where your prompts are stored

The prompts you save are stored locally on your device, using the browser's own storage (chrome.storage.local). They never leave your browser and are never sent to us or to any third party.

Permissions, and why they exist

• storage — to save your prompts locally on your device.
• activeTab / scripting — to insert a prompt you select into the text field on the page you are actively using, and only when you click "Insert".
• host access — the "Insert" action needs to work on any site where you type (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, email, and so on). PromptVault does not read page content; it only writes your own prompt into the field you have focused.

Third parties

None. PromptVault makes no network requests and includes no third-party trackers or code.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page.
